Yair who has performed world wide authentically represents Israeli, Jewish and Middle Eastern cultures and fuses through music as whole. Local harpist David Helfand, violist, Justin Lader opens the show featuring music from his album " Beyond the Sea of Reeds" with the participation of Rabbi Jonathan Seidel as guest vocalist. 7:30 p.m. $15.00 at the door.     David Helfand and Justin Lader- OMSI Kendall Concerts Presents – Through the Portal and Beyond Planetarium Concert

    7:00 p.m. • OMSI Kendall Planetarium • 1945 SE Water St. • David Helfand and Justin Lader return to OMSI for their second prodigious performance of space-inspired soundscapes. After their acclaimed album release of “Through the Portal,” a narrative cosmic journey of searching for lost loved ones, they return with a performance combining new instrumental pieces and classic selections from their album. This concert will showcase the duos new compilation album, “Valley of the Moon.” The album premieres celestial themed pieces, such as, "Crescent Sun," a piece inspired by the 2017 solar eclipse that was viewed largely across Oregon. All music will be visually choreographed with the Kendall planetarium's pairing of stunning astronomical images. We invite you to join us in a musical journey beyond the portal! Broadway • Direct from Sweden, welcome to an afternoon of Harp and Nordic folk music with Dråm: Erik Ask-Upmark - on Harp, vocals, Swedish bagpipe, traditional folk whistle Anna Rynefors - Nyckelharpa, Swedish bagpipe Local Harpist , David Helfand and violist, Justin Lader open the show Sunday, April 14th 3:30 p.m. Eugene Hotel $10.00 With their fresh and unique take on Nordic music, the Swedish musicians Erik Ask-Upmark and Anna Rynefors - known as "Dråm" - have taken the roots music community by storm. The name is pronounced "drohm" and means "drone" (that which you find on bagpipes, not the remote-controlled flying contraption) - an apt name for this talented duo with its riveting take on ancient and contemporary Nordic traditional music. Over the last decade, Dråm has toured in the UK, USA, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, France and Italy, to name a few countries. As well as performing, they have hosted countless workshops and courses in Swedish traditional music and dance.
